# Match rate (https://webmetic.de/docs/en/enrichment/trefferquote)

The match rate describes how many rows of an Enrichment list Webmetic fills with company data. For example, you upload the domains of your existing customers from your CRM. Webmetic fills the row for a machine builder with industry and phone number, while a mistyped domain ends with the status **Not found**.

How high the match rate is depends on your list. Webmetic tries to enrich every row, and for a list of valid company domains the match rate is usually 90 to 95 %.

## From entry to result [#from-entry-to-result]

1. **Enter domains**: You add domains as a CSV file, as a pasted list, or one by one.
2. **Shorten the domain**: Webmetic shortens every entry to the main domain.
3. **Read the website**: If Webmetic does not know the company yet, Webmetic reads its website first.
4. **Show the result**: The row ends with data or with the status **Not found**.

Webmetic works with domains only and never with company names. Webmetic removes the protocol, `www.`, subdomains, and paths itself, and only the part after the @ remains of an email address.

For example, the entry `https://www.nordhafen.example/de/kontakt` becomes `nordhafen.example`.

## Row results [#row-results]

The **Status** column shows one of these values for every row:

- **Enriching**: Webmetic is still working on the row.
- **Enriched**: Webmetic found data about the company and added it to the row.
- **Not found**: Webmetic found no usable data about the company.

Webmetic enriches the list in the background, so you can close the page. Companies Webmetic already knows appear after a few seconds. If Webmetic first has to read the website, it can take hours to a few days.

The table footer counts the rows per status. On the overview, each card shows a ring, and when you point at the ring, you see the figures for **Found**, **Not found**, and **Pending**.

Empty cells in a row with the status **Enriched** are not an error, because fields that Webmetic finds nothing for stay empty. **Address**, **Phone**, or **Directors** are missing, for example, when the company's website does not state them.

**Employees** and **Revenue** can stay empty too, and you can fill in many of the empty fields yourself, as described in [Results and export](https://webmetic.de/docs/en/enrichment/ergebnisse-und-export).

If a domain redirects to another one, the row can show the new domain afterwards.

## Reasons for rows without matching data [#reasons-for-rows-without-matching-data]

Webmetic gives no reason for a row without data, so check your input first. You can fix these reasons yourself:

| Reason | Example | What you do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Typo | `nordhaven.example` instead of `nordhafen.example` | Enter the correct spelling of the domain. |
| Website unreachable | The company's old domain, now switched off | Enter the domain where the company's website is reachable today. |
| Not a company website | Parked domain, placeholder, "Coming soon" page, private page, page with very little text | Enter the domain of the company's website. |
| Subdomain on a platform | A shop at `nordhafen.shopsystem.example`, shortened to the platform `shopsystem.example` | Enter the company's own domain. |
| Domain of an email provider | A contact's private email address, which leads to the provider instead of the employer | Enter the domain of the company's website. |

Even for a correct domain Webmetic sometimes finds no data, for example when the website cannot be read for technical reasons.

## Correct wrong entries [#correct-wrong-entries]

You cannot change the domain of a row. Remove the row and add the correct domain instead:

1. Click the **Enrichment** tab at the top.
2. Click **Open** on the card of your list.
3. Choose **Filter** > **Status** > **Not found**. After that, the table shows only the rows without data.
4. Check the domain below the name. In rows without data, the name also comes only from the domain.
5. Point at the row and click the bin icon. Webmetic removes the row right away, without asking for confirmation, and you can't undo this.
6. Click **Add companies**.
7. Choose the **Manual** tab.
8. Enter the correct domain in the field.
9. Click **Add & enrich**. Webmetic starts enriching the new row right away.

In a narrower window the tab shows only its icon. When you point at it, its name appears.

On a smartphone, choose **Enrichment** in the dropdown at the top.

To remove several rows at once, tick the rows and click **Remove** in the bar. To add several domains, use **Paste** or **CSV upload**.

## Prepare your list [#prepare-your-list]

Webmetic fills more rows with data when your list meets these points before the import:

- One domain per company, no company name
- The domain of the company's website, not that of an email provider
- The company's own domain, not a subdomain on a shop or platform address
- The domain where the company's website is reachable today
- In a CSV file, the domain in the first column, with no dates, numbers with a dot, or email addresses in the columns before it

Webmetic takes the first value in each line of a CSV file that looks like a domain. Webmetic does not add entries that are not domains, and it does not add domains that are already in the list.

## Data freshness [#data-freshness]

Webmetic enriches each row once. After that, Webmetic does not update the data, and a new run isn't possible. A result with the status **Enriched** or **Not found** therefore stays as it is, even if the company's website changes later.

When you change a cell yourself, Webmetic does not start a new lookup for the row.

Enrichment costs no credits until January 31, 2027. For details, see [Credits](https://webmetic.de/docs/en/credits).
