Trial and Free plan
The trial gives your account the Growth features for 14 days, and then it continues free of charge on the Free plan.
For example, a machinery maker adds the tracking code on Monday and from then on sees every identified company for 14 days. If it books no plan, its account then continues on the Free plan.
The trial is not a subscription. You enter no payment details, and the trial ends by itself.
From sign-up to the Free plan
- 1Sign upYou create your account and add the tracking code.
- 2Trial startsAs soon as Webmetic detects your tracking code for the first time, 14 days with the Growth features begin.
- 3Trial endsAfter 14 days the trial ends by itself, and your data stays.
- 4Free plan or a planWithout a purchase your account continues on the Free plan; with a purchase your plan starts.
Trial
The trial starts once Webmetic detects your tracking code for the first time, not when you sign up. If you add the code later, the trial still only starts then.
Each account has exactly one trial, and adding another website doesn't start a new one.
- Duration: The trial lasts 14 days from that moment. You can't extend or pause it in the dashboard.
- Features: You use every Growth feature, for example Smart Pages, ICP Analytics, session recording, and Enrichment. Single sign-on is part of Enterprise.
- Credits: Without a purchase, the trial includes no monthly credits, only the welcome bonus. For details, see Credits.
- Cost: The trial costs nothing.
At the top of the dashboard, a badge shows the days left, and admins see the Upgrade button next to it. The badge rounds down, so right after the start it shows Trial: 13 days left.

Every user in your account sees the badge. In a narrower window it shows only icons, and on a smartphone it is hidden.
End of the trial
If you book no plan, your account moves to the Free plan by itself at the end of the trial. No window opens, and you keep working in the dashboard without signing in again.
Webmetic deletes nothing:
- Companies: Every company from your trial stays readable with its name for good.
- Settings: Tags, comments, segments, notifications, and integrations stay as they are.
- Identification: Webmetic keeps identifying the companies on your website. The Free plan limit only applies to what you see.
- Notifications: Webmetic keeps sending scheduled emails, but only with companies you see by name.
- Smart Pages: A live page gets the Paused: visible with Growth status, and visitors see the original. After an upgrade, the Smart Page appears again.
Free plan
The Free plan has no end date, and your account stays on it until you book a plan. Your account also continues on the Free plan when a paid plan ends.
On the Free plan, you see the first 10 new companies each month with their name, counted across all websites in your account. A readable company stays readable, and a hidden one can become readable in a later month if it visits your website again.
The order of the visits decides which companies become readable. You can't choose or swap any of them. The dashboard doesn't show how many of the 10 places in the current month are taken.
To see what hidden companies look like, see Spot hidden companies on the Free plan.
Segments, tags, notifications, export, integrations, API, and the AI assistant keep working, but only with readable companies. Webmetic never hands out the name, profile, or visited pages of a hidden company, not even through export or the API.
After a cancellation or a failed payment, Webmetic sends no more scheduled notifications, not even on the Free plan. For details, see Notifications.
These features need a plan:
- Smart Pages: You can design Smart Pages on every plan, but only publish them from Growth.
- ICP Analytics: You only see a preview with sample data.
- Enrichment: New lists need Growth.
- Session recording: You can't watch recordings.
Your existing websites stay, and how many you can add depends on your plan. On the first of each month, Webmetic tops up your credits to a small base amount. Plans shows which feature belongs to which plan.

Switching to a plan
Only admins book a different plan. They click Upgrade next to the badge or Choose a plan on a hidden company. Users with the User role see the badge without Upgrade. Clicking the badge shows them a note that an admin manages the plan. The order steps are described in Billing.
- During the trial: Your plan only starts at the end of the trial, and billing starts then too. Until then you keep the Growth features, even with Starter. The badge at the top shows the plan and its start date.
- On the Free plan: Your plan applies right after the order. Every company appears with its name again, including the ones hidden before.
An admin can withdraw a plan booked during the trial before it starts, under Menu > Billing with the Cancel booked plan button. Webmetic then charges nothing, and the trial runs until its end.
Enterprise accounts have neither a trial nor the Free plan.
